Prepare your home for the spring selling season

’Tis the season to be selling! It is true that spring is a fantastic time to put your home on the market as the weather is beginning to warm up and flowers are starting to bloom. Here are our top tips on what do to prepare your home and have it looking its very best.

1. Spring Clean

They call it a ‘Spring Clean’ for a reason! Time to get rid of all the items you have accumulated that you don’t use anymore. Any clutter you can get rid of is going to help massively when it comes to selling your home for the best possible price.

2. Mow Thy Lawn

It’s time to dust the spiderwebs off your lawnmower, (sometimes literally!) and get down to business with mowing your lawn. Make sure that you don’t cut too low as you still want your lawn to look lush, especially if you are planning to have your property photographed in the near future.

It’s also a good time to do your edging. Grass does not grow as fast in the winter so it is a good time to make sure you train your grass where you want it to go, otherwise you are playing catch up once summer hits!

3. Hire an Expert

If you have larger trees, or fancy bushes that need professional attention now is a great time to have it all growing and planted correctly. A landscaper will know exactly is needed to make your garden ‘Pop’ when spring arrives. 

4. Clean the outside of your home

Time to get outside and clean those windows. Over time grime can build up, especially over winter when it’s too cold to do the window washing!

This is also a great time to pressure wash your driveways and concrete areas to bring them back to their former glory.
